In 2010, the global economy's continued unpredictability, coupled with changes to regulations meant that the demands placed on professionals charged with managing risk within energy companies remained high. The conference brought together industry leaders from across the globe to discuss solutions and strategies to manage these demands while predicting trends for the year ahead in the most diverse region.
Key topics included fuel-price risk management, the evolved regulatory landscape in the US and its impact on Asia, credit risk, hedging techniques and tools, portfolio optimization, outlook for the oil markets, the role of exchanges in the energy industry and an assessment of opportunities in alternative energy.
Integral to the conference programme was a faculty of exceptional speakers, representing a range of key energy companies, energy-intensive institutions, investment banks, exchanges and vendors from across the region and globe, including a keynote address from Helen Henton, Head of Energy & Environment Research from Standard Chartered, and an executive address from Andrew Bissett, Head of Risk from Qantas Airways.
